But it is important to notice that many people have been injured with the rocks that are below the water when they jump from the fall.

Always keep in mind that camping on the beaches of Montezuma is illegal, so get a room in one of the many accommodations that are here. Avoid visiting this region in high season because the cost of the rooms may be in some cases very high. However coming here definitely worth it. To get access to Montezuma the visitor need to take the ferry Puntarenas-Paquera and move to the place by car. The best place for whale watching in Costa Rica would be the central and south pacific, specially the areas around Uvita, Dominical and the Osa Peninsula like Drake Bay and Caño Island. Throughout all these places you’ll finde pods of humbacks, orcas, pilots and more surfacing for air and sometimes even staying as to investigate the humans that are themselves watching the whales.  In the midst of it all there are also legions of dolphins found all over the marine enviroment, sometimes traveling in pods that number in the hundreds.

Costa Rica Fishing

by admin ·

Sport fishing in Costa Rica is a very productive endevour.  Our pacific and atlantic coast feature some of the best offshore and inshore action in the world.  From offshore marlin fishing in Costa Rica to snook and tarpon fishing inshore or from the beach, or maybe some inshore rooster fishing and the some rainbow bass fishing near Arenal Lake, there is always something fun for everyone. Fly fishing in Costa Rica? No problem, there are beach, river and lake settings that are suitable to be fished with fly equipment.

Kayak Fishing in Costa Rica

Kayak Fishing in Costa Rica

All the tours advertised by travel agents in Costa Rica always include boat, captain (most of the times mate too), fishing gear, tackle, lures/bait, refreshments (water, juice, soda, beer) and snacks like sandwiches, fruits and salads. Offshore fishing charter boats in Costa Rica always include a good electronics package featuring at least GPS, depth finder, vhf communication and safety equipment.  The boats used for this type of fishing in Costa Rica are anywhere from 29 to 60+ feet. Inshore fishing in Costa Rica feature smaller boats but they are very well prepared as well, only chartering to species other than billfish.

There are also many great spots for kayak fishing in Costa Rica. This is a growing adventure tour that has turned out to be very productive and eco-friendly. Kayak fishing in Costa Rica can be done on estuary and inshore waters around the country and because of it’s stealth, this transportation method combined with fishing skills and the knowledge of the guides has turned out some great fish for those lucky anglers adventurous enough to “cast” the challenge.
